my bowel is so sensitized by the chilly now that food of any sort (even the plain O' bread and butter) will trigger off an explosive 'spicy' diarrhoea.  but the pros of this is that i can eat as much as i want to without gaining a single pound, and i can now accurately tell you where the Dentate line of my anus is...

i am now sitting on a time-worn leather chair in a starbucks, sipping camarel macchiato, immersing in a sea of broken singlish, and eye-grazing on all the party-going chicks behind the glass.  this is what i call life~ oh yea~~

when you are attached to a doctor who only has clinic once a week, and who, despite claiming to be responsible for all the wards on the entire floor, only goes to see three cases in the morning, you would have only two judgements of him: one that he is a super slack king who is about to get fired by the hospital, or, he is a too good to be doing anything mundane...

the doctor i am attached to apparently belongs to the latter...  as i juz found out that he is the co-editor of the Clinical Approach to Medicine, the Singapore's equilvalent to Asia.

The worst patients are those rude and uneducated ones who think they know everything.

and everyone here seems to fit into that...

Notes fron Singapore, writen in a sea of shooting and killing of computer games:

It was totally out of my expectation, that a should-be holiday would turn out to b something tougher than what is to come in med 5.  My grand plan of going sun bathing every afternoon has to be foiled as we now have to rise before the sun rise and can only come back after the sunset.  Life here certainly isn't as slack as what I have left it.   I am literally under strict surveillance and have to sign in and sign out everyday.  There is scarcely little time left for meal and sleep, let alone play.  And although Singpore is reputed to be a place of boredom, we find everything non-medical utterly interesting because of the prolong deprivation from them.  I am not sure if it is the climate, the food, or the monotonous patriotic statement from the every taxi driver we encounterred, but i am really starting to like singapore.  And i am even beginning to adapt the local accent.  Lee Kuan Yew must be so pleased to hear this.  Maybe he will even let me indulge in a little fun of gum-chewing.

As for the elective, one verse from Shakespear would sum it up well:

That we call rose,

By the other names would smell just as sweet.

And for others who are also in Singapore, please call me at 82046507.  We can arrange a little rendenvous maybe~~
